I’m Shai

I am a sustainable agriculture graduate with five years of experience in biotech, currently working as a project manager at Metagenomi, where we develop novel gene-editing technologies to advance therapeutics. Before this, I worked at Sound Agriculture (now Decibel Bio), where I focused on applying gene editing to create more resilient crops.

My work is centered on exploring how science and innovation can address some of today’s most urgent challenges. I’m particularly passionate about projects that have a lasting, meaningful impact—especially those related to environmental sustainability and climate change.

I love startup environments because of their raw energy, creativity, and room for growth. These settings have accelerated my learning and strengthened my skills, and they serve as the perfect training ground for my ultimate goal: founding a climate-tech, social-impact venture.
